Who We Are
First Response Advantage, Inc. has provided emergency planning
and safety services to facilities and corporations in the New York metro area since 2001. Our services range from customizing
an emergency response plan for a public access defibrillation (PAD) program to providing certification training in a variety
of courses in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid. We train a broad range of individuals from lay personnel
to health care providers. All our instructors are authorized American Heart Association training providers and have
outstanding experience as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics in the New York City EMS system.
Who
Benefits From Our Services
Our services increase workplace safety, facilitate regulatory compliance and can enable you to qualify
for a liability insurance deduction reducing your premiums by up to 20% annually. Recent legislation has
been enacted requiring several facilities and organizations to participate in the PAD program. These include NYS public and
charter schools, health clubs with memberships of over 500 participants and all New York State public institutions. In addition,
some municipalities have enacted requirements for nursing home and adult care facilities to obtain PAD certification. First
Response Advantage can provide your organization with the tools needed to comply with these state regulatory mandates quickly
and cost efficiently.
Defining the Need
The American
Heart Association estimates about 220,000 people die each year from sudden cardiac arrest. This equates to 600 people a day
or 25 people per hour. These statistics make sudden cardiac arrest the most common cause of death in the United States today.
Interventions such as CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) greatly reduce death from a heart attack or sudden
cardiac arrest. Almost anyone is able to perform CPR with training, and health organizations advocate the development of CPR
skills throughout the general public. When administered properly CPR and AED can save lives. CPR is a practical skill and
needs professional instruction followed up by regular practice on a resuscitation mannequin to gain and maintain full competency.
Training should be repeated at the end of the two year certification period.
Our Services
First Response
Advantage can outfit your organization to meet the new NYS health requirements as well as train your staff so that they have
the skills needed to act in an emergency. Our goal is to offer the finest quality courses and provide an optimal learning
atmosphere.
Courses can be scheduled to fit your needs to maximize convenience. Course participants receive
certification card upon course completion. In addition, most of our courses qualify for continuing medical education credits
(CME) which are needed by many health care professionals to maintain their licensure.
